Misano World Circuit, 23 April 2024 – There is just over a month left until the Rubia Engine Oil Misano Grand Prix Truck, the event that every year brings together the community of truck drivers and the road haulage chain at Misano World Circuit.
The appointment is for 25 and 26 May, when the circuit named after Marco Simoncelli will open its doors for two days full of events, starting with the track races of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship.
Also this year, Rubia Engine Oil will be the title sponsor of the Misa stage. The title sponsorship, inaugurated last year, strengthens TotalEnergies’ already important presence in the main competition dedicated to heavy vehicles. In fact, the Company, in addition to being the sole supplier of HVO100 biofuel for the entire championship, is a sponsor, again with the Rubia brand, of the Lion Truck Racing of Lyon.
THE HUNT FOR THE CONTINENTAL TITLE STARTS FROM MISANO
This year too, the Misa stage will open the season of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, the continental series that will cross 7 nations to elect the heir of Norbert Kiss, the Hungarian driver who last year achieved his fifth European title .
The European Young Drivers’Championship has also been confirmed, the European championship for young drivers which aims to find the future protagonists of truck racing which debuted in Misano last year.
AN INCREASINGLY SUSTAINABLE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) continues to have a strong impact on sustainable motorsport. The latest Sustainable Championships Index™ (SChI™) rankings, the championship that evaluates and classifies the sustainability performance of motorsport championships, place it in thirteenth position, a further rise compared to last year’s 16th place out of the 105 championships recognized in world level.
The rise to 13th place reflects a commitment to driving positive change in the transportation industry by adopting and promoting eco-friendly practices while maintaining the exciting and unique character of truck racing.
TEST DRIVE WITH THE VEHICLES OF THE MAIN MANUFACTURERS
One of the most appreciated opportunities of the Rubia Engine Oil Misano Grand Prix Truck is that of the test drives organized by the media partners of the Vado e Torno event and Trasportare Oggi in collaboration with the most important manufacturers. The presence of DAF, Ford Trucks, IVECO, MAN and Renault Trucks has already been confirmed, each of which will provide two vehicles for the tests, which can be carried out both on the track and on a road course outside the circuit. At the evenT gazebo, in the area dedicated to test drives, each visitor will be able to register and choose the vehicle to test and on which route.
A unique opportunity to try out the latest vehicles and discover their technical and performance characteristics. The tests are open to anyone with a valid C (European) driving licence.
NEWS IN THE SECTOR AND THE MEETING OF DECORATED TRUCKS
The Misano and Grand Prix Truck has always been an important meeting moment between manufacturers, companies in the supply chain and the road haulage community, an opportunity to discover all the new products.
To capture curiosity in the paddock, in addition to the innovations of the sector, there are also the vehicles participating in the decorated trucks rally, another important sector of the supply chain. Last year there were 250 participants who, with their artfully personalized liveries, completely filled the area dedicated to them and were protagonists of the final parade on the circuit.
Registrations to participate in the 2024 rally will close at the beginning of May, but there are already interesting innovations, including a curious miniature truck.
