Misano World Circuit > Uncategorized > Formula E is coming: many initiatives in the area and the partners involved

Donations from the organizers to the Municipality of Misano and the ITS Maker Foundation

Precious close collaborations with San Patrignano and Hera

Misano Adriatico, 10 April 2024 – There is very little left until the Misano E-Prix weekend, with the track program opening on Friday with the free practice session dedicated to rookies at 2.00 pm and the first free practice of Formula E at 5.00 pm: 00. For the occasion, it will be possible to access the covered grandstands for free to watch the program on the track. The highlight is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, when races number 6 and 7 of the ABB Formula E World Championship will be staged.

Formula E is not just entertainment on the track and maximum attention to sustainability, which translates into the use of 100% renewable energy for the realization of the event and in compliance with the strictest international protocols on the matter. One of the characteristics of the event is also the commitment to researching actions that can leave a positive impact on the territories hosting the Championship.

Also in the Misano E-Prix stage there is a rich program of activities for the benefit of the community.

For the occasion, many historical partners of Misano World Circuit wanted to participate in supporting the event and in particular the environmental sustainability contents that it brings with it and which it undertakes to spread in the territories involved in the races all over the world.

FORMULA AND COLOR THE CYCLE PATH ON THE MISANO SEAFRONT BLUE

Promoting sustainability also means encouraging sustainable mobility. For this reason, Formula E wanted to contribute to the redevelopment of the cycle path that runs along the Misano Adriatico seafront, donating a significant quantity of a special intense blue paint that will be used to color 3,800 square meters of the route dedicated to slow mobility. The paint is supplied by Mapei, a historic partner of the circuit, which has always been sensitive to sustainability issues. The color chosen, which conforms to the stretch already built in the new South Lungomare, recalls the shade of Misano Adriatico, of its sea which for over thirty years has been able to boast the prestigious Blue Flag and also recalls the color of Formula E.

A GEN 1 FOR THE ITS MAKER FOUNDATION

Another donation that Formula E has planned for the Misano E-Prix is that of a Gen1, the 1st generation of electric single-seaters, to the ITS Maker Foundation which holds a two-year post-diploma technical specialization course in Sport & Electric Motorcycle, whose objective is to train professional figures with certified technical skills to be included in the world of racing.

COLLABORATION WITH SAN PATRIGNANO

The close synergy with San Patrignano is important, with which Formula E shares values and vision. The Sustainable Economy Forum is scheduled for tomorrow, an important moment for reflection and sharing experiences on the key issues of sustainability and responsibility for six years, organized by San Patrignano and Confindustria. Julia Pallé, Sustainability Manager of Formula E, will be present at the event.

Furthermore, the guys from the San Patrignano carpentry sector have created the gifts with recycled wood that will be given to the guests of Formula E and to all the volunteers who will support the E-Prix.

800 STUDENTS VISITING ON FRIDAY

There will be 800 students, coming from 16 schools and universities in the surrounding area, who will have the opportunity to visit the circuit and get to know the world of Formula E up close. On Friday the kids will take part in the scheduled talks and attend the activities on the track and will participate in an exclusive tour of the paddock.

THE SOLIDARITY PIT WALK ON FRIDAY

On the occasion of the Italian stage of the ABB Formula E World Championship, a tradition of the Misano World Circuit is renewed. On Friday afternoon, after the free practice session reserved for rookies and before the free practice session scheduled for 5pm, the Solidarity Pit Walk will be held which will involve non-profit associations that work with disabled people. A walk in the pit lane is planned, with a visit to the pits.

THE URBAN SOURCE ON THE CIRCUIT

An ‘Urban Source’ will be available to spectators on the circuit. Thanks to the collaboration with Hera and with the aim of reducing the production of plastic volumes, the spring located in the MWC Square will provide free natural and sparkling drinking water throughout the weekend.

The “Urban Source” aims to promote the sustainable use of water in cities and all visitors to the Autodromo will be able to fill their water bottles or containers for free.

THE HERA GROUP TAKES TO THE TRACK

The contents of Formula E, which accompanies the races on the track with messages and initiatives of environmental culture, are shared by the Hera Group, which for years has been committed to making electric mobility a concrete option, providing the charging stations for the development of urban networks charging.
