Misano World Circuit, 14 April 2024 – 25,000 fans at the two races of the Misano E-Prix of the Formula E World Championship.

Objectives achieved, therefore, with Friday and the many young people arriving from schools, also protagonists in the construction of the unprecedented dimension for Formula E in Italy on a permanent circuit and within an area which has created around the tradition in motorsport a district like the Motor Valley, animated by 16,500 companies with a turnover of 16 billion. An event that associated sustainability-oriented content with the track and shared it across the territory in a packed program of events.

“Italy has always welcomed Formula E with open arms – commented Alberto Longo, Chief Championship Officer Co-Founder – and Misano is no exception. The track is located in the heart of the Italian Motor Valley and is famous for its rich history in motorsport and for its enthusiastic fans.
MWC has first-class facilities and a track that offers fantastic overtaking opportunities and generates close battles. Our events here reflect our shared commitments, both to environmental sustainability and to motorsport excellence. We will continue to place the highest priority on providing a safe and unparalleled racing experience. Our bond with Italy is strengthened, as is the deep connection between our sporting values and the country’s automotive passion.”

“A beautiful event – adds the Councilor for Tourism of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Andrea Corsini -, a novelty for our Region, which further embellishes our sporting calendar and strengthens the strategic role of the Misano circuit as a container for great events, also important for the tourist presences they generate in the area. Added to this is the important value that Formula E conveys, because it addresses the issue of environmental and electric sustainability, one of the central policies of our Region in terms of sustainable development.”

“We wanted this organizational challenge with determination – says Andrea Albani, managing director of MWC – and the outcome is very satisfying. Formula E offers an extraordinarily innovative proposition in motorsport and our circuit wanted to get on board a journey into the future, which will soon have an impact on our daily lives.
Everything we are doing in terms of sustainability, both as a territory and here at MWC, has found powerful stimuli from this experience. I thank the institutions, private partners, companies in the MWC Square network, associations, the world of training and all those who contributed to this success. Motor Valley has proven to be a natural home for Formula E.”

It was a weekend with a clear youthful imprint: an audience new to motorsport, with a strong interest in environmental protection issues, interested in the performance of electric cars on the track and attracted to the paddock by the many initiatives of the Fan Village, including moments of meeting organized on the contents that accompany Formula E, in addition to concerts by Rose Villain and Bradley Simpson.
Testifying to this youthful attention are the many students, over 1,200, who accepted the invitation from local schools and universities, the 200 girls who participated in the activities of the Girls on Track program and the students of the ITS Maker in Sport & Electric Motorcycle course which is based in MWC. The original Formula E Gen1 car was donated to the ITS Maker active at MWC, which in 2014 launched the revolutionary era of fully electric open-wheel cars.

Race 2 today was won by Pascal Wehrlein (Tag Heuer Porsche Formula E Team), followed at the finish line by Jake Dennis (Andretti Formula E) and Nick Cassidy (Andretti Formula E), on the third step by just five hundredths compared to Nico Muller ( ABT Cupra Formula E Team).
The winner now seemed to be Oliver Rowland (Nissan Formula E Team) who on the last lap ran out of energy available to his car and left the way open for Wehrlein.
