  • REGULATIONS
    • Access and use of the circuit rules (IL01P751 Rev. 05)
    • CIRCUIT ENTRANCE
    • article 1) Access to the Circuit is subject to Santa Monica Spa timetable compliance or, during exhibitions, under their particular programmes or rules. It is also compulsory to own a valid entrance ticket, fees are shown at the entrance of the circuit.
    • article 2) Admittance to the Circuit is forbidden for children less than 14 years old, if not accompanied by a full-aged person.
    • article 3) PETS, AND OTHER ANIMALS, ARE NOT ALLOWED AT THE CIRCUIT, but the dogs employeed by disabled people or by Police staff.
    • article 4) All vehicles inside the circuit (parking areas, paddock, inside and outside track service roads, etc.) must maintain a moderate speed; it is strictly forbidden to use the paddock areas and the service roads for car and/or motorcycle practices, unless they have been designed for that purpose, on penalty of being immediately expelled from the circuit.
    • article 5) Along the Paddock area and the inner roads is applied the Italian Public Roads Rules, and Santa Monica SpA is not responsible about the traffic flow.
    • CIRCUIT OPENING HOURS
    • article 6) Porter’s lodge (at the entrance of the circuit) opening hours: from 07:00 to 19:30, extended opening hours during major events.
    • REGULATIONS fOR ALL ACTIVITIES ON THE TRACK
    • article 7) Vehicles can have access to the track only after the driver gives a valid pass to the track officer, who will authorize the entrance.
    • article 8) It is possible to access to the track after having signed the specific assumption of liability form for the activity that will be performed and on exhibition of a valid identity document only, as stated in the following articles.
    • article 9) OF AGE drivers can have access to the track under the following rules only:
    • article 9 – I) Of age drivers are allowed to enter in the track if in possession of a valid driving licence. Copies of the document will not be accepted.
    • article 9 – II) Circuit entrance is allowed to of age drivers who possess either a learner’s permit or a document proving the loss or renewal of their licence. Copies of the above said documents will not be accepted and he/she has to exhibit a valid identity document, too.
    • article 9 – III) Of Age drivers will be allowed to enter the track exclusively for the pre-race practices if in possession of a sport licence for the current year issued by the qualified sport authority (FIM-FMI-CSAI-FIA).
    • article 10) Under 18 MOTORCYCLE drivers can have access to the track under the following rules only:
    • article 10 – I) If in possession of driving licence A or learner’s permit. No other document will be accepted.
    • article 10 – II) Possibility to ride a 125cc REGISTERED motorbike only.
    • article 10 – III) It is essential that a parent is present, or someone on his/her stead, who will have to sign the assumption of liability form before entering in the track.
    • article 10 – IV) the parent must exhibit his valid identity document.
    • article 10 – V) No proxy substituting the presence of a parent will be accepted.
    • article 10 – VI) ABOUT PRE-RACE PRACTICES SEE ARTICLE 41
    • article 11) CAR drivers UNDER 18 can have access to the track if in possession of a valid CSAI (FAMS) driver licence only, provided that they drive N group or formula cars with 1600cc capacity maximum or alternative energy cars. In case that the under 18 is owner of a licence issued by a sport organization non member of the European Community, it is necessary, in addition to the licence itself, that a parent is present or someone on his/her stead. ABOUT ROAD FREE PRACTICES SEE ARTICLE 50.
    • article 12) Motorcycles drivers must enter in the track dressed with leather overall, glows, boots and helmet.
    • article 13) Car drivers must enter the track wearing a helmet and seat belts must be fastened.
    • article 14) On the track only the same type of bikes can run (ex.: hypersport bikes together with hypersport bikes, supermotard bikes with supermotard bikes in Supermotard Track). At any rate all the motorcycles or cars must be equipped with a road circulation homologated exhaust. The track officer can exclude from practices vehicles that make excessive noise or with exhaust against regulations.
    • Admittance to the big circuit is permitted for:
    • - all road motorcycles (see exceptions), including the naked ones.
    • - all supersport motorbikes.
    • Admittance to the big circuit is not permitted for:
    • - off-road motorbikes: cross (dirt-track bikes), enduro, supermotard and trial categories.
    • - grand cruiser motorbikes.
    • - particular motorbikes, such as custom ones.
    • article 15) In the case that the track is wet, the officer allows entrance to motorbikes with rain wheels only.
    • article 16) Motorbikes cannot be equipped with rear or side bags or anything similar. Rearview mirrors, head and rear light and position indicators must be fixed with appropriate masking tapes (ex. American masking tape).
    • article 17) Inside the Main Circuit vehicles must run clock wise.
    • article 18) Inside the Supermotard Track vehicles must run clock wise.
    • article 19) It is strictly forbidden to drive in the opposite direction.
    • article 20) It is strictly forbidden to stop the vehicle on the track.
    • article 21) In case of a forced stop the driver must go immediately in a safe area and wait for the staff service.
    • article 22) Passengers are not allowed on vehicles. About the activity during week days (exclusive hire) SEE FOLLOWING ARTICLES.
    • article 23) The drivers must not allow their vehicle to be driven on the track by non authorized persons or persons that have not previously signed the Assumption of Liability Form. Not respecting this rule will cause drivers civil, administrative and penal responsibility.
    • article 24) It is strictly forbidden give to third parties one’s access pass, even for partial use, (badge/trasponder, wristband, coupon, ticket, etc.). Contravention of this rule will place drivers in civil, administrative and penal responsibility. Moreover, the Santa Monica Spa attendant is authorized to withdraw the access pass (badge/trasponder, wristband, coupon, ticket, etc.) and forbid the entrance to the trespasser.
    • article 25) All damages caused by the driver to the track, frames and/or third persons must be refund to Santa Monica Spa and/or directly to the injured.
    • article 26) Races and bets are strictly forbidden.
    • article 27) ENTRANCE IN THE PIT LANE IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO NON AUTHORIZED PEOPLE AND UNDER 14 CHILDS.
    • article 28) It's strictly forbidden to smoke and to light on any kind of fire inside the pit-boxes.
    • article 29) It's strictly forbidden to store flammable stuff inside the pit-boxes (fuel and gasoline).
    • article 30) Santa Monica Spa will decide the conditions and the number of vehicles that can run together on the track; during major events this arrangement will be set by the qualified sport authority.
    • article 31) Drivers must firmly respect the directions of the staff (track officer, track entry officer, etc.). If the driver will not respect their indications or the orders of this regulation, he/she will be expelled from the track and from the circuit.
    • article 32) On the track all the drivers must behave correctly, follow the rules and be responsible to each other. Moreover, drivers must follow the indications of the track officer and respect the articles of these regulations, displayed on the circuit.
    • article 33) Drivers must know the flag language, particularly:
    •    Yellow flag: slow down! Danger! Do not overtake!
    •    Red flag: practices instantly stop and slowly return to the pits.
    •    Chequered flag: stop, the turn is over.
    • article 34) During the practices, drivers who intend to go back to the pits have to signal their intention to the other drivers.
    • article 35) After having verified the necessity, the track officer can decide to refuse the drivers entry to the track.
    • article 36) After having verified the necessity, the track officer can decide to suspend the ongoing practices in any moment.
    • article 37) If the driver is involved in an accident he /she must immediately inform the Santa Monica Spa staff present in the track; if they cannot do it themselves, within reason, they may delegate another person.
    • article 38) The driver who notices something strange and/or an accident on the track mustinform immediately the Santa Monica Spa staff present in the track.
    • TRACK UTILIZATION, ACTIVITY DURING THE WEEK DAYS (exclusive hire)
    • article 39) The exclusive track hire is regulated by the Santa Monica Spa contracts.
    • article 40) It is possible to use the track only after having completed all the documents at the Circuit Office.
    • article 41) The presence of passengers on vehicles is possible if it has been previously arranged with the Santa Monica Spa and after having taken out the specific insurance policy only.
    • article 42) During the motorbike groups practices, professional drivers will not be admitted on the track.
    • TRACK UTILIZATION DURING PRE- RACE PRACTICES
    • article 43) After having filled in and signed the forms and in order to have access to the track the driver must collect the pass at the office.
    • article 44) UNDER 18 can attend the BIKE pre-race practices only if the practice sessions are scheduled by the Race Regulation approved by FIM-FMI. They have also to show their valid sport licence issued by the qualified sport authority (FIM-FMI).
    • TRACK UTILIZATION DURING RACES
    • article 45) The rules of the National and International Sport Code will regulate the races (FIM-FMI-CSAI-FIA).
    • TRACK UTILIZATION DURING ROAD FREE PRACTICES INTO THE MAIN CIRCUIT
    • article 46) Before having access to the track, the drivers have to carry out all the documents in order to be issued with the badge/trasponder.
    • article 47) In order to be issued with the badge/trasponder the driver has to: fill in and sign the “Assumption of Liability Form”, deliver his driving licence and leave a deposit that will be given back at the end of the practices.
    • article 48) TRACK ACCESS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS DURING ROAD FREE PRACTICESES.
    • article 49) At the end of the practices the driver must give back the badge/trasponder and pay the fee, less the deposit already paid. The office attendant will give him/her a receipt and his/her driving licence back.
    • article 50) In case of loss, damage or if the badge/transponder is not returned, the deposit will be retained by Santa Monica Spa.
    • article 51) If the driver needs an invoice instead of receipt he must inform the attendant in time.
    • article 52) The driver has to verify that the light and sound signal at the track entrance and exit validates the badge/transponder correct working. If he/she finds something wrong (beep signal) he/she has to check the badge/trasponder condition at the Office.
    • article 53) Track access to UNDER 18 drivers during CAR road free practices is strictly forbidden.
    • article 54) During car road free practices only REGISTERED road vehicles are allowed to enter in the track.
    • article 55) Historic motorbikes are not allowed to enter in the track during motorbike road free practices.
    • TRACK UTILIZATION DURING SUPERMOTARD PRACTICES - TEST TRACK
    • article 56) Before having access to the practice track, the driver has to complete all the documents in order to be issued with a wristband.
    • article 57) In order to be issued with a wristbandt the driver has to: fill in and sign the Assumption of Liability Form, deliver his/her driving licence, pay the fee and get the receipt. If the driver needs an invoice instead of receipt he/she has to inform the attendant in time; in this case he/she will be given a form that he/she will have to submit at the pit office to get the invoice.
    • article 58) If the driver loses the wristband he/she will not be allowed into the track.
    • article 59) During practices drivers must enter in the track only with a Supermotard bike.
    • article 60) Non authorized persons and visitors are not allowed into the track, i.e. beyond the cement barriers.
    • THE FLAGS
    • The marshals present on the circuits utilize a range of flags to signal the different situations occurring to pilots both during the races and the free practices sessions. These flags follow the international regulations and all the world circuits use the same ones, obviously with the exception of the national flag.
    • CHEQUERED FLAG : This flag indicates the end of the race or of the practice session.
    • RED FLAG : This flag is shown when it becomes necessary to stop a practice session or the race. All drivers are required to slow down immediately and proceed to the pit lane.
    • BLUE FLAG : This flag is waved as indication to a driver that he/she is about to be overtaken. The driver concerned must allow the following car to pass at the earliest opportunity, paying attention to avoid sudden path changing or brakes.
    • GREEN FLAG : During reconnaissance lap this flag indicates green light.
    • YELLOW-RED STRIPED FLAG : Informs drivers that there is a deterioration of adhesion on the track due to oil.
    • YELLOW FLAG : This flag indicates a danger, usually due to an accident. If shown, it means do not overtake; while if waved, it means reduce your speed too.
    • WHITE FLAG : Indicates to the driver that there is a much slower vehicle on the track, usually an ambulance.
    • BLACK FLAG WITH ORANGE DISK : Shown with the motorbike number informs the driver that the motorbike may have dangerous mechanical problems and that he/she must return to his/her pit immediately.
    • BLACK FLAG : It is shown with the motorbike number to indicate that the driver must call into the pits during the next lap.
